About

Rahif El Chaar

I am a finance professional interested in how capital, politics, and markets interact, particularly across the Middle East and emerging markets.

My work sits across M&A, corporate finance, valuation, and investment analysis, but my broader curiosity extends to political economy, geopolitics, and the forces that shape business decisions. This website is a place where I bring those interests together: part professional profile, part research archive, and part space for ongoing thinking.

I currently work as an M&A analyst at Bluebox Corporate Finance in London, where I work with owner-managed businesses and lower mid-market companies on sell-side and buy-side mandates. Previously, I worked in M&A at Ciesco, supporting live transactions across technology, digital, and media sectors, and before that in Corporate Banking at Citibank, covering clients across Lebanon and the GCC.

I hold an MSc in Finance from Imperial College London and a BBA in Finance and Accounting from the American University of Beirut. I have also studied financial derivatives and analysis at Boston University and completed all three levels of the CFA Program.

Through this website, I write about markets, Middle East politics, economic developments, and the links between finance and the wider world.
